Welcome to The Official Site of Stuart ‘KO’ Kellett!

Stuart Kellett LogoThis is the new homepage of Stuart ‘KO’ Kellett, Winmau Masters finalist, and now PDC Darts Professional.

After winning a PDC Tour card in 2012, Stuart has already moved up to 78th in the PDC Rankings (which is a 2 year rolling system, so plenty of time to move right up that!), and qualified for the 2013 world championships coming through a tough qualifier field in Barnsley.

Stuart has already taken some big name scalps, and is starting to settle into the new ‘professional’ regime of the PDC floor tournaments.

With his first experience of a PDC TV tournament under his belt (UK Open in Bolton), he has now also qualified for one of the big money European Tour events – the European Darts Open in Germany in July. With a proven darts management team behind him (MDA and Mitchell promotions, who also look after Dean Winstanley and Justin Pipe), Team Kellett is now looking to ‘KO’ his opposition and shoot up those rankings. Get in touch if you wish to be part of that team as a sponsor.

German Darts Masters

Stuart was unlucky this weekend to run into the form man of round 1, Kevin Painter, who hit a 101 average in his defeat of KO.  Sometimes the draws just come out like that, better luck next time!

Kellett did wire a d12 for a 9 darter though, so form is there!

Round 1:  Stuart Kellett 1-6 Kevin Painter.

KO Hits 2016 Running

Stuart travelled to Wigan in January as the PDC proTour starts up again.  It was a mixed (but positive) start, with KO earning qualification for the German Darts Masters European tour event.   The highlight of the day must be the 6-0 thrashing of much fancied Keegan Brown, who has been playing well on TV the last year or so.

The European events are big money tournaments, so that’s already a good start to the year, with good minimum prize money already guaranteed.

The year will continue with long weekends of UK Open qualifiers, the first of which starts 5th Feb.

Half Way Through the 2015 Darts Season…

It’s the end of June, and the season mid-point sees Stuart ranked 39th in the world, sitting on £57,500 winnings over the two year period.  £4,750 has been won by Stuart since mid-May, which shows his form is returning.

He’s also 55th in the Pro Tour floor rankings, with £9,500 won, but a good push on in the second half of the season could see him jump up into the top 40.

Player Championships 6-8 in Coventry

The PDC Pro tour moves to Coventry for three days of Player Championship floor tournament events, and with £10,000 first prizes up on offer each day, there’s a LOT to be playing for.  While there’s no Phil Taylor, the rest of the world’s top players are taking part, including world number 1 MvG, and World Champion Gary Anderson.  As often said these days, “There are no easy games”.

Final Three 2015 UK Open Qualifiers

UK Open qualifiers again in Wigan, and each of the three £50,000 PDC ProTour event features over 200 players, with PDC Tour Card Holders joined by PDPA Associate Members as the second day of the weekend’s treble-header.

Another three day ‘weekend’ of darts for Stuart, as he continues with the second half of the UK Open Qualifiers.  After a disappointing first three days, and no money yet won towards qualification, Stuart will want some better luck and results to see him earn at least £500 which may be enough to qualify for the TV finals in Minehead.

Coral UK Open Qualifier Four
Friday February 20, Robin Park Tennis Centre, Wigan

Round 1:   Stuart Kellett 6-1 Kevin Voornhout
Round 2:   Stuart Kellett 6-4 Terry Roach
Round 3:   Stuart Kellett 6-2 Dean Winstanley
Round 4:   Terry Jenkins 6-1 Stuart Kellett

A much better qualifier in Wigan today, with the £500 earned which may see Stuart safe for Minehead.  He will want to add to that over the next two days to make sure though.

Coral UK Open Qualifier Five
Saturday February 21, Robin Park Tennis Centre, Wigan

Round 1:  Stuart Kellett 6-5 Pete Dyos
Round 2:
Stuart Kellett 6-5 Dean Winstanley
Round 3:  Stuart Kellett 6-5 Matt Clark
Round 4:  Eddie Dootson 6-3 Stuart Kellett

With another £500 won on day 2, Stuart will be in Minehead – so he can relax on the last qualifier and see how much more he can add to the £1,000 already won.

Coral UK Open Qualifier Six
Saturday February 22, Robin Park Tennis Centre, Wigan

Round 1:  Stuart Kellett Bye
Round 2:
Colin Osborne 6-5 Stuart Kellett

Stuart ends his qualification on £1,000, which puts him 65th in the order of merit for Minehead, which is live on ITV4.  If you are interesting in sponsoring him and have your patch on TV, get in touch.

2015 German Darts Championships

After a disappointing first three UK Open qualifiers, it was much better news for Stuart as he started in the line-up for the first PDC European tour event, the German Darts Championshps.  With £115,000 prize money on offer, and a huge £25,000 first prize, a few wins can mean a lot to the rankings, which would be a great confidence booster for Kellett.

Round 1:  Stuart Kellett 6-4 Daniel Zygla

It’s not the best KO has played, but the first round win is really important, and he goes on to Saturday’s last 32 round.

Round 2:  Stuart Kellett 0-6 Stephen Bunting

Unfortunately it’s one of those nights when doubles just won’t go in, 0/7 means Stuart goes no further.

William Hill World Championships 2015

It turned out to be a disappointing world championships for KO this year, as he never showed his true skill on the big Alexandra Palace stage, going out the to the qualifier and prelim winner Sascha Stein from Germany.

Match Information
First Set 0-3 – Could we be in for another shock on our hands? Stein makes a flying start, although Kellett is way below par, and misses six darts at double when losing the set.
Second Set 3-2 – Kellett escapes with the set that goes all the way. Stein threw for the set after a break, but crucially missed a dart at tops to go 2-0, and although Kellett his five when going for 52, he recovered to hit double 16 with his last dart.
Third Set 2-3 – Another close call but this time it’s Stein who prevails. Stein missed another six darts at doubles but his double 8 still made it 1-1. Stein then hits 180 to leave 57 and cleans it up, before a 14-darter puts him 2-1 ahead.
Fourth Set 2-3 – More late-night drama again as Stein books a dream place in the second round at the fourth time of asking having missed three match darts. Kellett extended the match with the first ton-plus finish of the match but Stein responded by taking out 79 on the Bull.
