Kellett at the 2013 Grand Slam of Darts!
KO continues his fantastic 2013 year in the PDC, by qualifying for the unique Grand Slam of Darts tournament in Wolverhampton, after coming through a huge field of 180 players in Wigan.
Stuart started his run to qualification with wins over Nathan Richards, Peter Hudson and Ricky Sudale before overcoming 1996 World Champion Steve Beaton with an excellent 4-1 triumph.
The 32-year-old then edged out youngster Ben Ward 4-3 before confirming a debut appearance in Wolverhampton thanks to a 5-3 triumph over Bristol’s Steve Brown.
The tournament sees Stuart play in three group stages – all live on Sky Sports from this Saturday.
WILLIAM HILL GRAND SLAM OF DARTS DRAW
Phil Taylor (1)
Saturday November 9 – Evening Session
Game 1: Stuart Kellett 0-5 Phil Taylor
There’s nothing Stuart can do against a 112 average from the Master in an awesome display – so KO won’t take the loss to heart.
Evening Session (7pm-11pm)
Groups A-D Second Games
Game 2: Stuart Kellett 5-4 Kevin Painter
A good battling performance from Stuart, who digs in and comes back to win a very tough game, and it’s his first PDC win on TV, the first of many!
Tuesday November 12 (7pm-11pm)
Groups A-D Final Games
Game 3: Stuart Kellett 2-5 Paul Nicholson
Unfortunately Stuart nevers seems to find his scoring rhythm tonight, and it’s Paul who goes through to the knock-out stages.
