‘KO’ takes on Raymond van Barneveld tonight in Dublin, in the unique “double-in” World Grand Prix.  The first round is short n dangerous, with the first to 2 sets making for a quick fire game.  Three legs wins a set, so there can be a minimum of 6 legs played, up to a maximum of 15 legs.

Stuart goes into this TV tournament after a mixed weekend ‘on the floor’ – picking up £750 towards his rankings after making round 3, then round 2 on Saturday and Sunday.  Stuart will take confidence from the fact he beat Barney, his opponent tonight, in the recent 7th European Tour event.

Tune in to Sky Sports 1 HD from 7pm tonight, and see Justin Pipe play live approx 7.30pm.  Coverage is also live for www.LIVEPDC.TV International Pass Subscribers (outside of UK, Ireland & Netherlands).

Tuesday October 8 (7pm, Sky Sports 1 HD)
First Round

Stuart Kellett 0-2 Raymond van Barneveld

Stuart pushes Barney in the first set.. having one dart to win on tops, but just losing 2-3.  Barney doesn’t let up in set 2, and his 60% checkout percentage matched with his scoring would beat nearly anyone.  Stuart goes out, but it’s been a good learning experience, and he’ll be back up on the big stage!

First Set – 2-3 van Barneveld
Van Barneveld made a nerve-settling start, finishing 61 on double 18 in the first leg before doubling his lead on double eight, before Kellett broke back on double four. The debutant then finished 11 to level the set, with van Barneveld waiting on 32, and gave himself a chance to win the set in the decider – but missed a second double top when on 100, allowing the Dutchman in to finish double 16.
Second Set – 0-3 van Barneveld
The Dutchman storms through the second set, hitting two 180s in a superb 12-darter to win the opener, a 118 checkout in leg two and a 94 finish in the third leg, despite a Kellett 180, to seal a fine victory.
